Year 11 Students Visit The Capital
On Saturday 19th October 40 Year 11 students visited London and experienced all sorts of culture for the weekend!
On Saturday, after taking in the sights of Millennium Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London, London Bridge, and the Shard, it is surprising they had any energy left! A trip to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre was in order and the group were given a fantastic guided tour to find out more about theatre in the Elizabethan and Jacobean era. It was then time to experience some theatre first hand and the group travelled to Wembley to see 'War Horse' - a truly unforgettable experience.
After a well-deserved night's sleep, the group travelled to London Zoo on Sunday morning and saw lots of creatures (big and small!) and even got to attend some of the interesting talks delivered by the zoo staff. Finally, a trip to Covent Garden was the perfect end to a fantastic weekend where the students watched lots of street performers, took in the sights, and did a bit of shopping!
