Early last year Samantha Fretwell in Year 9 attended some Archery after school sessions. Since then she joined the Aequus Archers Club and after only five weeks was invited to compete in a competition in Leicester. Within the first six months of learning to shoot Samantha was awarded the Junior Master Bowman status and has been invited to shoot at the Junior Masters Competition in August. Recently she attended Lilleshall, the sports centre for England, in the National Outdoor Championships and has again achieved Junior Bowman Status by scoring very high scores at three records status shoots.

Samantha has been selected to shoot for Derbyshire and on the 23rd of July she will be competing as a top member of the Derbyshire team. She is also now competing for the region and will be shooting as part of the East Midlands Archery Society Team (EMAS)

Shooting for County first year, County and region second year.......England next?

All this from attending one after school club!

Well done Samantha!
