Our year 9 catering students have successfully passed the Sainsbury's 2* and 3* Chef Awards.
With this year’s theme of ‘International Cuisine’ the students had one hour to prepare, cook and serve a main course dish and all its accompaniments. Many of the students made their own naan breads, poppadoms, salsa, guacamole, garlic bread or spicy wedges to accompany their main course dish with some students starting as early as 8:15am (or working through break) to achieve a higher grade! Students achieved grades of up to Distinction + for their practical examination and will be awarded with a certificate from Sainsbury's once the supporting written work has been assessed.
The students are now continuing to work towards the Sainsbury’s 4* Chef Award.
