Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day during the entire month, with the idea that each drawing is a reflection of the day’s prompt word, as listed below.
Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.
“ANYONE CAN DO INKTOBER,
JUST PICK UP A PEN AND START DRAWING.”
In school we are running this as a House competition, with prizes for students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and the chance to win points towards the House totals.
Students can either complete one drawing based on a prompt word of their choice, or can complete the full challenge by doing 31 drawings. Either way, we are really looking forward to seeing what the outcomes are.
