Coronavirus update 26.02.2020 @ 11:30am

Public Health England have advised that Folgarida is not an affected area therefore, unless any symptoms are shown within 14 days of return, there is no concern or need for quarantine.

Symptoms include cough, fever, shortness of breath.

In flu season it is likely that a proportion of students who have travelled to resorts may return with viral infections and some students may report feeling unwell. Our advice to students who are symptomatic is the same as it would be in other cases. Children who feel unwell should not be in school but should remain at home and concentrate on their recovery. Any respiratory symptoms should be reported to NHS 111.

Additionally Public Health England advice states that any student who believes they may have
been at risk of contact with coronavirus should:

-     Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu

-     Call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the country

Encouraging good hygiene

As always, if you have symptoms of a cold or flu, then there are measures you can take to stop germs:

-     Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.

-     Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.

-     Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

-     Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
